21 US Presidents Ranked by IQ
Most people agree that a high IQ score doesn’t result in automatic success, especially in terms of politics. However, most people do associate quality leadership skills with intelligence. Keeping this in mind, some might wonder how the US presidents rank in terms of IQ. Since there is no way to know the exact IQ of some of the past presidents, a professor at UC Davis used historiometric methods in order to estimate the IQ of the leaders in order to rank them properly. Information from the leaders’ biographies and their writings were used to establish these rankings.
21. George W. Bush
The 43rd president of the United States is estimated to have a 124.88 IQ according to this study. During his presidency, his intelligence was often called into question but the truth is his IQ is that of the average college graduate in the country. Bush graduated from Yale University and during his eight years in office, he lowered the marginal tax rates for almost all taxpayers. He is also responsible for the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003 following the September 11 attacks in the US. Bush also created the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief which set aside $15 billion over a course of five years to fight AIDS internationally.
